TRUEMAN AND THE ARSONISTS.

Trueman and the Arsonists | New Play
Roundhouse, London

Written by Max Frisch
In a new version by
Simon Stephens
Songs by
Chris Thorpe

Fires keep starting. All across the city, arsonists worm their way into respectable people’s homes only to burn them all down. It’s a plague. And we don’t know why.

But Trueman is no fool. He can spot an arsonist from a mile away. These two strangers with troubled pasts who turn up on his doorstep asking for a spare room can’t be arsonists. They’re too polite. Like him. Everybody is far too respectable to act on their suspicions. Even when they fill his attic with barrels of petrol and ask him to help measure the fuse.

In a new version by Simon Stephens, with songs by Chris Thorpe, Max Frisch’s Trueman and the Arsonists explores how moral lethargy can invite evil in – even encouraging you to give it a warm blanket and a nice dinner.

This is an amoral morality play. With songs in it.

CRUISE.

CRUISE The Play | New Play
Apollo Theatre in Shaftesbury Avenue, London
13th August – 4th September 2022.

Stand-By Performer / Cover ‘Jack’.

Recently nominated for the 2022 Olivier Award for Best New Play and following rave reviews, the theatre show CRUISE returns to London’s West End for a strictly limited run from 13 August to 4th September 2022.

Written and performed by Jack Holden (War Horse, Ink) with “vast charm, empathy and energy” (Evening Standard), CRUISE is a celebration of queer culture; a kaleidoscopic musical and spoken word tribute to the veterans of the AIDs crisis; an urgent piece of theatre, with an irresistible 80s soundtrack, which will make you laugh, make you cry, and which inspires us all to live every day as if it’s our last.

The show is directed “with inventive control” (WhatsOnStage) by Bronagh Lagan and features a “pulse-quickening, period-pastiche electro soundtrack” (The Telegraph) performed live by John Elliott.

MONEY.

MONEY | New Interactive Zoom Play
by Isla van Tricht & directed by Guy Woolf (co-presented with Southwark Playhouse)
from 26th April 2021.

The Nyoni Youth and Community Project are offered a large donation from the Anders Corporation that promises to save the struggling charity. The source of the money is, however, an ethically questionable one.

Secrets will be spilt, hidden and traded, loyalties and rivalries will be formed and broken as the charity’s board wrestle through the muck of this ethical dilemma.

The audience plays the role of members of the charity: you will CHOOSE which breakout rooms to go into at different points in the play – and therefore what secret agendas and stories you overhear; in the end, you will VOTE on whether to accept the money and there are SEVERAL POSSIBLE ENDINGS depending on the result.

Commissioned from an idea by represent. MONEY is a unique interactive production that puts you right in the heart of the ethical dilemma: Will you accept THE MONEY?

represent. is supported by Texel Foundation with an accessibility grant from the Cameron Mackintosh Foundation with Southwark Playhouse.

Enter With Boldness | New Play
by Lewis Ian Bray

Enter With Boldness is a new play by Lewis Ian Bray and is directed by Julian Spooner. Set in the dark magical realist world of SUGAR CITY, EWB marks the rise of working-class political populist Angus Fisher. The play seeks to ask why political leaders go to extreme measures to gain power and to lead to understanding how they galvanise and manipulate the citizens to do so. Will Angus be the leader SUGAR CITY finally need? Can he abstain from the trappings of success? Or will he, like the politicians before him, sink to new depths?

Developed in conjunction with The Pleasance Theatre, The Liverpool Everyman and proudly supported by Arts Council England.
