I have experience with collaborative and ensemble work aimed at young audiences with WildChild’s inaugural (and ACE funded) production of Michael Morpurgo’s Kensuke’s Kingdom (see photographs) in which we as an ensemble cast of five created narrative, character and environments of the novel through devised play and working with the body. We worked with Maggie Bain (performed with Frantic Assembly) as our movement director, choreographing lifts and stage combat. I played the novel’s lead ‘Michael’, using elements such as puppetry, shadow play, physical theatre alongside the ensemble. We also were able to do a highly appraised full production at Pleasance at Edinburgh Fringe and performed in schools within Edinburgh. Also, having immersive theatre with puppetry skills playing Paddington, Paddington™ Lo-Commotion at Blenheim Palace, puppets designed and made by Jimmy Grimes, and puppetry directed by Ashleigh Cheadle.

mission.

To create an exceptional, professional theatre company of people from lower socio-economic backgrounds. To be considered a successful, affordable alternative to drama school training that opens up the industry to those for whom it is currently inaccessible and the preserve of the privileged. To redefine the concept of repertory theatre into a vehicle for training and experimentation as well as addressing the current imperative to create your own work and be masters of your own career.
